UK: Fighting Prison Expansion Midlands Tour

From the Empty Cages Collective

This November, the Government announced plans to build two new mega prisons in the Midlands. One in Wellingborough and one in Leicester at the site of HMP Glen Parva. This is part of a once-in-a-generation reform of the prison estate creating more than 10,000 new prison places.

Community Action on Prison Expansion are in the Midlands this December talking about prison expansion in the region. The aim of this tour is to build regional resistance to the prisons and solidarity for the local groups on the frontlines.

The info evenings will explore the complexities of the Prison Industrial Complex; a system that destroys lives, fails to address harm, perpetuates violence and tears apart families and communities.

Learn about recent resistance and ongoing struggles, plus how you can get involved.
